A plant voucher is pressed and dried plant material that is stored in a properly conditioned, secure library of plant vouchers called an herbarium. The vouchers are rich sources of phenotypic data, and they include valuable date and location data, thus augmenting the amount of information that is preserved for a cultivar. Vouchers can also provide tissue for genotyping and chemistry testing purposes. Together, these elements create Certified Reference Material, a gold-standard of your cultivar for future comparison and verification.
LeafWorks partners with Canndor, the world’s first and only cannabis herbarium, by providing plant stewards with the instructions and material they need to voucher up to three cultivars correctly. Then, LeafWorks prepares the specimens for long term storage, digitizes the record, and delivers the vouchers to Canndor for storage and maintenance.
